The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- In-depth and comprehensive knowledge of Azure.
- Manage and maintain our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is always secure, reliable, and efficient.
- Implement database administration, performance tuning, and query optimization techniques for Azure SQL Database.
- Manage Azure DNS, and Azure Virtual Networking, enhancing network performance and security.
- Deployment Automation: Create and maintain automated deployment pipelines using industry-standard tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, …) to enable continuous integration and deployment of software systems. Ensure proper configuration management and version control of code, database schemas, and related artifacts.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems using Azure Monitor.
- Be responsible for setting up Azure Security services e.g. Microsoft Defender For Cloud, and Azure Sentinal for end-to-end cloud security.
- Strengthen network security by implementing and managing Azure Firewall and Azure Frontdoor with WAF.
- Utilize Azure Event Hub for real-time data ingestion and processing.
- Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and Azure Bicep
- Deploy and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service for the orchestration of our containerized applications.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will report directly to the Line Manager and will possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Solid experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Azure Bicep.
- Strong experience with Azure, particularly Azure Entra ID, Azure DNS, Azure Virtual Networking, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Event Hub, Azure Monitor, Azure Firewall, Azure Frontdoor with WAF, Azure Security services.
- Experience in implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures and plans for databases.
- Solid knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
